Synthesis of Serrated GaN Nanowires for Hydrogen Gas Sensors Applications by Plasma-Assisted Vapor Phase Deposition Method
Nowadays, the semiconductor nanowires (NWs) typically used in hydrogen gas sensors. Gallium nitride (GaN) with a wide band gap of 3.4 eV, is one of the best semiconductors for this function. NWs surface roughness have important role in gas sensors performance. In this research, GaN NWs have been synthesized on Si substrate by plasma-assisted vapor phase deposition at different deposition time, ...
متن کاملResistive Oxygen Gas Sensors for Harsh Environments
Resistive oxygen sensors are an inexpensive alternative to the classical potentiometric zirconia oxygen sensor, especially for use in harsh environments and at temperatures of several hundred °C or even higher. This device-oriented paper gives a historical overview on the development of these sensor materials. It focuses especially on approaches to obtain a temperature independent behavior. It ...
متن کاملAcoustic Wave Hydrogen Gas Sensors
Amorphous titanium dioxide (TiO2) and gold (Au) doped TiO2-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors have been investigated as hydrogen gas detectors. The nanocrystal-doped TiO2 films were synthesized through a sol-gel route, mixing a Ti-butoxide-based solution with diluted colloidal gold nanoparticles. The films were deposited via spin coating onto 64◦ YX LiNbO3 SAW transducers in a helium atm...
متن کاملResistive Liquid-Vapor Surface Sensors for Liquid Nitrogen and Hydrogen
Ten resistance thermometers were tested as point sensors for detecting the liquid-vapor interface in liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen. Test results showed that most could be made to detect the liquid surface and lead orientation can be important. A silicon resistive sensor had the fastest response and produced the greatest signal change.
متن کاملGrowth and Characterization of GaN Nanowires for Hydrogen Sensors
We report on the growth and characterization of high-quality GaN nanowires for hydrogen sensors. We grew the GaN nanowires by catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using gold thin films as a catalyst on a Si wafer with an insulating SiO2 layer. Structural characterization of the as-grown nanowires by several methods shows that the nanowires are single-crystal wurtzite GaN. Photoluminescence...
